Experiential Design in Black Rock City for Playground Camp

In the collaborative spirit of Black Rock City, Playground Camp emerged as a one of the top attractions of the playa.  Brought to life by many participants contributing to its assembly and spearheaded by Carl Cox Playground's sound camp is one not to miss at Burning Man with stellar headliners. Our founder Richard Milstein's involvement included stage design, lounge design, decor, and the camp's structural and logistical design and layout for living quarters for 160 people—evoking the communal essence of radical self-expression and collective creativity that defines the Burning Man experience. The Dune Lounge at Playground unfolded as a welcoming oasis hosting one of the most iconic parties of the event, The Purple Party.  Richard designed the Arrival stage with custom-built metal structures and fire-spewing upper plates, a post-apocalyptic inspired creation that was also featured at Ultra Music Festival in 2018 and called "The Arrival Stage"—resonating as a testament to shared innovation  where each element wove into a story of connection and play.
