STILL CURIOUS?

Recording Studio Design in Miami for 5020 Sony Music Latin

Rednoir was tasked with the interior design concept for 5020 Studio, a 15,000-square-foot, two-story facility serving as the new creative hub for Sony Music Latin in Miami. The project encompasses three recording studios, two writing rooms, a 4K screening room, and a performance area, as well as lounges, a conference room, multipurpose offices for podcasting and other content creation, and an outdoor area. We collaborated with world-renowned acoustical engineer Horacio Malvicino and designer Fabiola Mena of the Malvicino Design Group, who executed the acoustical design, installation, and integration. The original concept proposed making each recording studio a totally different vibe to accommodate artists' moods and evoke creativity: a dark, a playful, and a zen studio. For Studio A/Dark, the focus was on acoustic clouds with custom art on acoustic fabric and bent halo pendants for mood light. Studio C/Playful took a Neo Art Deco vibe inspired by Miami, with custom designed artistic fabric. The multi-purpose performance area included large-scale lighting installations and revamped ping pong tables. The conference room adopted a playful industrial chic vibe with a custom nook lounge. The patio served as a multifunctional performance and lounging escape with a projection wall. The VIP lounge aimed for a cozy speakeasy cigar bar style—evoking a seamless fusion of creativity and functionality that inspired production in Miami's dynamic music scene.
