This interior design project was undertaken by Rednoir to transform an 11,000 sqft temporary structure, specifically a tent, into a VIP club area for the Miami Grand Prix. The project involved several creative and logistical challenges, including strict access and tight schedules for installation and dismantling, but Rednoir embraced these challenges.
The main goal was to make the space appear permanent and to reflect the Art Deco style associated with Miami, incorporating representative colors such as pink and aqua. Every aspect of the design—from the architecture and layout to individualized custom-made furniture and decor—was meticulously curated.
The design strategy involved creating distinct areas with specific personalities, which was achieved by installing three massive arches to divide the space into different sections such as dining, viewing, screens, and lounging. Color played a crucial role in bringing these areas to life.
Custom fabrication was necessary to accommodate the tent’s slanted roof. Notably, two large bars, each 32ft wide and 20ft tall, were placed at the far ends, each with a unique personality. The existing tent walls were covered with set pieces and velvet drapery to elevate the aesthetics on approximately 280 linear ft. The smaller arches that served as seating nooks were crafted and painted with a custom pink metallic paint, and this color was used elsewhere in the space for maintaining consistency, including on an F1 model cars photo op wall.
Overall, the project relied on custom solutions, including furniture that matched the vibrant color palette, ensuring every element was cohesive and contributed to a luxurious, immersive VIP experience despite the temporary nature of the structure.
